The backyard is one of a kind, truly unmatched views of our Nature Coast!
You’ll have a fire ring, a charcoal grill for outdoor cooking, (**We provide the grilling utensils but it is recommended to bring your own charcoal**) a concrete patio with outdoor seating.
The sun sail pictured over the concrete patio is available upon request. We do get many breezy days here on the Nature Coast so to prevent it from sailing away we don't keep it up in between rentals.
Our little neighborhood is walkable!! 🤗
At the cabin you'll have only a few full time neighbors around you and you'll notice none of the homes on Aripeka Key have privacy fences. This boundless environment not only offers the feel of lodging at a campground but also it allows the Florida Native wildlife to freely roam in their natural environments.
So we encourage you to walk around these old limerock roads and explore too!
If you are bringing your own boat or jet ski, the historic Norfleet's Fish Camp public boat ramp and store is located in town just over the bridge for quick Gulf access. Once on the water it's a short trip to the Hernando Beach flats which is a local favorite for anchoring out to spend the day swimming, grilling and soaking up the sun!
For guests who bring airboats, the property offers fantastic access! Once you launch at the nearby ramp, you can anchor in the backyard on the right tides, allowing you to explore the marsh trails, islands and mangrove trails. (Please be sure to check Hammock Creek tides).
✨Tide times vary daily - often high enough to swim & play during sunny days🌞 Check Hammock Creek Tide Times for most accurate times.
Local Wildlife Around Aripeka Key & the Cabin:
Grab your morning coffee and relax on the screened-in porch to catch a glimpse of some of Nature Coast's finest!
You may spot wild turkeys 🦃currently with a few babies traveling out of the marsh across the backyard.
Sandhill Cranes are frequent Nature Coast stars, with prime viewing in the evenings just before sunset as they take flight out to the islands for the night.
Deer 🦌also love Aripeka Key, they have been seen casually walking down our limerock road checking out the neighborhood. Often in the early mornings they are spotted making their way out of the marsh and hanging around the backyard.
You will certainly see roaming 🐓chickens during the day before they head off to roost. Other native birds you may spot are White Ibis, Blue Herons & Great Herons frequenting the marsh for crustaceans. We have a couple of Red Shoulder Hawks that love hanging in the treetops, you'll most likely hear them in the morning before you see them.
Wild hogs sometimes come over from the islands, but they typically hang around the edges of the marsh early mornings or late evenings and are no bother, you might even spot a few babies. That is actually how we got our friendly pet Rebella; caught as a baby, this nature preserve is the only home she has ever known, and she can occasionally be seen foraging around the yard or playing in the water.
Peacocks 🦚Keep an eye out for local peacocks, including a couple with babies, crossing the road on your way to Norfleet's Fish Camp and boat ramp. Sometimes they even make their way strolling right down our street in front of the cabin.
End your day star gazing by the fire, watch the fireflies put on a show over the marsh grass and enjoy the pure bliss of this Nature Coast retreat.
We hope your stay with us is filled with blue skies, sunshine & good times! But this is Florida, we do get summer showers. The good thing is we're not sugar and we're not salt so we won't rust and we won't melt!
Come escape to the Nature Coast on Aripeka Key!
The entire cabin is your cozy home away from home during your stay!
2 bedroom 1 bath, full kitchen, screened back porch with washer and dryer, spacious backyard with BBQ grill, fire pit & yard games.
Beyond the cabin, explore the Gulf with our complimentary Kayaks & SUPs! Our little neighborhood is walkable and just across the lane from the front porch is the private dock reserved for Aripeka Key guests to launch the provided Kayaks & SUPs.
Your hosts live on the peninsula, because we fell in love with historical Aripeka and just couldn't leave.
We love it so much we want to share the little cabin with you!
Visit one time & see how easy it is to want to get back to the Nature Coast as soon as life allows it.
If you need us, we're close & we're always happy to meet guests who love this hidden gem as much as we do.
If not, interactions & communication will remain limited to the Airbnb platform because we want to ensure you feel like this cabin was your home during your stay.
Historic Aripeka is a small fishing village right on the Nature Coast.
This town is peaceful & secluded tucked away from daily commutes yet still minutes from local shops & dining.
Aripeka offers a rare glimpse into authentic Old Florida because if you blink you could miss it. Even Babe Ruth escaped here to unwind, trading the spotlight for quiet days on the water guided by the town's very own young Bartow Littell to the best fishing holes only he knew. Bartow could never have imagined at the time how he was shaping the town's history. Mr. Littell and his family went on to purchase land in town and build homes, where many of the family still reside to this day. The cabin is actually a Littell home from the 1950s.
When you come here you're not just visiting Old Florida, you're staying in a piece of it. So here's your opportunity to slow down and enjoy.... isn't that what we work so hard for?
Here's what's right in the Neighborhood, within
walking distance or short drive:

Aripeka Adventures is where you can hop on an airboat tour right in town to explore backcountry waterways, islands, and a chance to see dolphins, sea turtles, manatees, etc

We believe in transparent, stress free booking. Professional cleaning is included in your stay, so there are no additional cleaning fees to worry about just pure Nature Coast relaxation.
For your maximum comfort during your stay and to preserve our natural wood floors for future guests to enjoy, we maintain a strictly pet-free home. While pets are not permitted, we support our veterans who fought to keep our beautiful country free and follow platform guidelines regarding trained service animals. Please notify us prior to booking if you will be accompanied by one so we can make the necessary accommodations to our cabin. Thank you for understanding.
We also want to note that kids are absolutely welcome, many families have come to enjoy with kids of all ages.
However, you'll notice we don't list this space as a kid friendly environment simply because we do have decor around the home that is in reach of small children.
If you have little humans with you feel free to move items that you don't consider safe for your kids up out of the way. It's fine if you leave it on top of the refrigerator, we'll understand. 😊
