Inside the main house, you’ll find comfortable spaces for cooking, dining, and relaxing together. The Great Room is the heart of the home, featuring a cozy lounge, fireplace, and a long dining table made from the original homestead wood.

Accommodations include:

Sunrise Suite: Two upstairs bedrooms (each with a queen bed), one shared bathroom, and a private living room with foosball table, hot tub, and hammocks.

Three Lodge Rooms: Each with its own entrance, queen bed, private bathroom, and desert-inspired decor.

Homestead Cabin: A separate rustic cabin near the pool with a kitchenette, bathroom, and living area—ideal for a couple or solo guest seeking extra privacy.

Outdoors, enjoy a pool with sweeping desert views, a firepit surrounded by bottle walls, hammocks, and shaded patios for lounging.

Joshua Tree is a designated Dark Sky community — at night the firepit is the best seat in the house.

A car is essential. Most guests fly into Palm Springs (PSP, ~50 min) or Ontario (ONT, ~90 min); LAX is ~2.5 hours. Driveway is well-maintained for standard vehicles. Free on-site parking + Tesla EV charging (bring adapter for non-Tesla).

Self check-in via smart lock — your space is yours. Jenn and the local team are a message away if you need anything. We're happy to connect you with favorite local guides for sound baths, in-home massage, private chef dinners, hikes, and stargazing. Available or invisible — your call.

The Desert Lily is in the heart of the Joshua Tree Highlands, one of the most desirable neighborhoods in the High Desert, and just minutes from downtown Joshua Tree and the National Park entrance!

We recommend bringing your own car to get around as there are no public transportation options to get to the house. The Joshua Tree Highlands is loved for its scenic roads and rural neighborhood feel, but please note that the dirt roads can be rough and there are no street lights, so driving slow is highly recommended!

Pool and spa heating is available for an additional fee, as propane is very costly in the desert. Please inquire before booking if you’d like the pool or spa heated. The spa heating is $75 for 4 hours. Pool heating is $250 per day. This covers the actual cost of the fuel needed to heat it. For one night stays who'd like to add pool heating, you would be charged for 1.5 days, to cover the extra propane for start up.

Note: Heating cannot be guaranteed, and we’re unable to offer discounts if the heater isn’t working during your stay.

The hot tub next to the house is heated and included with your booking.

Pets: Up to two dogs allowed ($95 fee). No cats.

Quiet hours: 9 PM to 8 AM

Parties and events are not allowed

No washer or dryer on-site (laundromat available in town)

Wildlife

You may spot rabbits, roadrunners, lizards, coyotes, and other desert creatures. The desert is peaceful but alive with nature. Keep doors closed and food sealed, and enjoy the quiet beauty of this high-desert landscape.
