Perhaps you're exploring Southland, looking for the perfect stop for a night or two - look no further! Relax in the spa after dinner and watch the sun go down in the last place of New Zealand to see the sunset!

This accomodation is at the end of our home. With your own private entrance, you also have your own private lounge area and there are two bedrooms - one with a queen bed, the other with a double bed. There is a private bathroom with toilet, vanity and a walk-in shower. (No bath).

Cooking facilities are limited! There's a small fridge, microwave, toasted sandwich maker, jug & toaster with dinning table & chairs. A bbq is provided outside on the deck and a pizza stone is also available for your use. (Please note: there is no oven).

The local cafe/bar/restaurant (Tui Base Camp), Boundary Creek Gallery/Cafe (excellent coffee & cabinet food), Takeaways (Hungry Hippo), Bistro at the Waiau Town & Country Club (Thurs-Sun only) and/or 4 Square supermarket is only a 10 minute (12km) drive back to Tuatapere.

During your stay you have exclusive use of the spa pool - there is no need to "book it" and you can use it as often as you’d like during your stay.

Your own BBQ to use; and
The exclusive use of the Spa on outside deck next to your room.

We live on-site but leave you alone to enjoy the peace and tranquillity. (We are available to answer any questions/requests you may have!)

Papatotara is approximately 12 kms southwest of Tuatapere. The start of the NZ's next Great Walk - The Hump Ridge Track is a further 5-6kms up the gravel road. Free from the usual light pollution, enjoy the night sky and the gorgeous outlook of Te Waewae Bay, with Stewart Island to your left and Fiordland National Park to your right.

You will need a car to get around especially if you would like to eat at the cafe/bar/restaurant in Tuatapere - it’s 12kms from here. If you are walking the Hump Ridge Track it’s a further 5-6kms to the track car park from our place.

We have a very friendly dog (Ohla). She will probably greet you on your arrival. Please don't hesitate to let us know if we need to keep her out of your way.

There is no vehicle access to the beach from our road, but a short walk from our property via the provided public access way gets you down to the beach.

Please note that we are surrounded by a working Dairy Farm - if a gate is shut, please shut it again once you pass through.
