About this apartment
Bright, fully furnished one-bedroom for two guests, on the fifth floor of a modern Ruaka residence.

Ruaka sits on the hinge between Nairobi and the quieter highlands to the north — close enough to work in the city, far enough to sleep well.
Two Rivers Mall, Ruaka Square, Rosslyn Riviera and Village Market are all minutes away, covering restaurants, supermarkets, cinemas, pharmacies and banks. The UN complex at Gigiri and the diplomatic quarter of Runda are on your doorstep, which is why this area suits people here on assignment. There is a police station nearby and a 24-hour supermarket within reach.
For eating out: Tribe Hotel, The Bedelle, Holiday Inn, City Lodge, Muthu Sovereign and Java House.
Karura Forest is the neighbourhood's best-kept secret — a thousand hectares of trails, a waterfall and the Mau Mau caves, fifteen minutes away. Closer still are Ruaka Falls, The Dam Redhill and Funscapes Two Rivers Theme Park. Kiambethu Tea Farm in Limuru, the Giraffe Centre and Karen Blixen Museum all work as day trips.
Nairobi's city centre is 14 km away. Think in minutes rather than kilometres — traffic decides everything. Allow generous time at peak hours, far less early morning or on a Sunday. Ride-hailing covers the area well, and the drive from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport is straightforward even at night.
Getting around Ruaka
Ride-hailing is the simplest option. Uber, Bolt and Little cover the area well and run late into the night. A short hop to Two Rivers or Village Market is inexpensive; a run into Westlands or the city centre costs more and depends entirely on traffic. Bolt Boda motorbike taxis are quicker in jams and much cheaper, but I'd suggest them only for short daytime trips.
Matatus — the shared minibuses — run constantly along Limuru Road towards Westlands and the CBD. They are the cheapest way into town and a genuine local experience, though they get crowded at rush hour. Route 116 serves the Ruaka corridor.
On foot, Two Rivers Mall, Ruaka Square and the local supermarkets are all walkable in daylight. Pavements are uneven in places, so bring comfortable shoes.
After dark I'd take a taxi, as I would anywhere in Nairobi.
Free parking is available on site if you drive or hire a car.
The Northern Bypass and Limuru Road put the airport within easy reach.
From Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, take the expressway and the Northern Bypass.
Allow around 45 minutes at quiet times and considerably longer at peak hours. I can arrange a trusted driver for your arrival if you'd like — just ask when you book.
