Thai Longhouse - Ground floor pillar room

We make a great starting point to visit Chiang Rai's sightseeing spots which are all outside the city. The Black House Museum is at walking distance.

This stylish, spacious room is one of 3 in our unique stilt, traditional Thai wooden longhouse. It offers 55 m2 of living space including a private bathroom and covered terrace.
The room is situated at ground floor level. It offers a King size bed and accommodates 2 guests but we can add a quality mattress to sleep a third guest (extra charge).

If you would like to stay with a larger group, you can send us a message and inquire for availability as we offer 7 rooms in total in a unique blend of modern, tropical style and traditional Thai wooden style buildings.

In addition to the private terrace of your room, you can enjoy our large forest garden with 2 covered terraces and Thai pavilions, full of bird-life next to a creek and enjoy the daily lovely sunsets. Throughout the premises you can enjoy free WiFi.

We enjoy hosting and giving you a place to escape to and yet you can enjoy Chiang Rai’s charming city and people. Come and go when you like, interact or stay quiet, eat when you want and sleep when you feel like it.

Yet close to the heart of the city (10 km - 20 minute drive), our location and surroundings are tranquil, green and full of bird life. We are only 800 meters from the highway at the outskirts of a typical Thai village. There is a local market and a 7 Eleven and Tesco Lotus convenience store at the main road (1 km).
Directly from our location you'll find rice fields, rural roads, hiking trails and 2 scenic waterfalls at biking distance and also the famous Black House Museum (900 meters). We are close to the vibrant area of a university with many shops, restaurants and markets.
Our place is an excellent base to explore the highlights of Chiang Rai province as most points of interest are north and south of the city: Doi Mae Salong (authentic Chinese settlement on a mountain ridge), tea & coffee plantations, hill-tribe villages, Burmese and Laotian border (towns), the impressive Mekong river bordering Laos, Doi Tung Royal gardens and many more...
You can self-explore by motorbike or we can offer you a private tour you will not forget!

We offer the possibility to rent automatic scooters (scooter license required) to explore the beautiful surroundings. Or use our free bicycles. The Black House museum (900 m) is at walking/cycling distance. We provide maps to 2 nearby scenic waterfalls with the beautiful Thai countryside as a back-drop.
Downtown Chiang Rai can be reached easily by motorbike or we can arrange a (meter) taxi for you. Or use the Grab-taxi app.
If you like to travel as a local: just stroll to the main road and jump on one of the local buses that pass every 15 - 20 minutes bringing you directly to downtown Chiang Rai (THB 20).

The walls in your room contain local clay as part of our environmentally friendly focus. Some guests notice a slight earthy smell because of this. Do not worry, it is totally safe as it is a natural product and it is NOT caused by humidity or fungi.

Breakfast is not included in your booking but we can make something really tasteful for you with freshly brewed, home-roasted organic coffee or tea at a fair price. Just walk in at our communal reception/dining area from 7.30 - 10 AM your.
