About this house
Portland is an amazing city. We sought out a home that represents the heart of Portland. The style, age, location of this historic house is absolutely perfect. Come stay at a home that captures the essence of this wonderful city. This is a local, family run house.
Here are some features that make it unique:
1) 1 Gig Internet.
2) Gated Yard
3) Two large dining tables to seat everyone together.
4) 10 person game table
5) Air Conditioning.
6) Walk-in-closets in several bedrooms.(easy to store luggage).
7) Fully stocked kitchen.
Please note the City of Portland noise regulations at this location, enforceable with $250 guest fine:
1) No outdoor music at any time.
2) Quiet hours are enforced between 10pm and 7am. Specifically, use of all outdoor spaces is prohibited during quiet hours. Any excessive outdoor noise during quiet hours, including loud conversations when entering/exiting the house is prohibited.
There is a basement, which is a separate living quarters occupied with a long-term tenant, with separate entrance, and separate fenced entrance to the estate. No living spaces are shared.
We strive to follow all of the City of Portland laws regarding short term vacation rentals. We had to work with the neighbors to gather their input as well as follow all code related items from the City of Portland. Thank you for supporting a house that follows the rules. One of the rules from the City of Portland is that a permanent resident is living in the basement (separate entrance, no shared living spaces).
The house is about 1/3 mile away from the nearest I-5 exit and a very short drive to Moda Center or downtown Portland. Public transportation is within walking distance (~2 blocks).
The house is a corner lot so there is usually street parking as well as a long driveway. The street is extra wide as it used to be where the trolley passed 100 years ago.
I live within driving distance so we're available to help.
The Overlook neighborhood is unique among upscale Portland neighborhoods. There is very little traffic due to being located on a bluff (no through traffic). Many restored mansions from a different era are scattered in this wonderful community. If you love architecture, take a walk around the block. Many neighbors have been been in this neighborhood for decades, and love the quiet atmosphere at this location. Be respectful and quite when you are outside to maintain the peaceful nature of this neighborhood. Loud groups with late-night activities and/or parties are not a good fit for this location.
You can walk to the max line easily which connects to all parts of Portland.
Even during rush hour, you can avoid the highway and quickly get to:
Moda Center
Convention Center
Pearl District
Dual dining tables can seat everybody together.
Game table seated for 10
Parking for 5. Park the first three cars on the driveway.
Foosball table
