Late fall at White Lake is the locals’ secret: quiet trails, crisp air, the last of the color on the hills, and none of the summer crowds. Stay in a real A-frame tucked in the pines that sleeps 8, then spend your days hiking Mt. Chocorua or wandering the trails at White Lake State Park, just minutes away. Evenings belong to the fire pit, the fireplace, and the dog curled up nearby, because this one’s dog friendly. Come before the snow flies.

About this cabin

Start outside. The cabin sits on a wooded lot surrounded by tall pines, with a fire pit ringed by Adirondack chairs that ends up being everyone's favorite spot after dark. The deck holds a gas grill for burgers, steaks, or whatever the crew is cooking tonight.

Step through the double glass doors and the A-frame does its thing: soaring knotty pine ceilings, a wall of windows pulling in the light, and a vintage green canoe mounted overhead (it's decor only, so admire it from the couch). The living room has leather seating for the group, a smart TV with streaming, and a linear electric fireplace that makes movie night feel like an event.

The full kitchen is built for group meals: black cabinetry, granite counters, a deep farmhouse sink, stainless appliances, and an island with bar seating where everyone ends up gathering. A Keurig coffee station keeps the early risers happy.

Sleeping arrangements (4 beds, sleeps 8):
- Bedroom 1, main floor: queen bed
- Bedroom 2, main floor: double bed
- Sleeping loft, upstairs: two double beds, a TV, and a ceiling fan. The loft is open to the living room below (no door), so it's the fun spot for kids or friends who don't mind a little togetherness.

There's one full bathroom on the main floor with a tub/shower combo, so plan shower times for bigger groups. We stock plenty of towels. A washer and dryer are on site, handy after muddy trail days. Mini-split heat and A/C keep the cabin comfortable year-round, and WiFi is included for streaming or checking the trail forecast.

========== NEIGHBORHOOD / GETTING AROUND ==========

The cabin is tucked into a quiet wooded neighborhood in Tamworth's Chocorua village, at the southern edge of the White Mountains. You're close to everything without being in the middle of it. Drive times are approximate:

- White Lake State Park (about 5 min): a sandy beach for summer swimming and kayaking, plus an easy trail looping the lake that's gorgeous in fall.
- Chocorua Lake (about 10 min): one of the most photographed views in New England, with Mt. Chocorua reflected in the water.
- Mt. Chocorua trails (10 to 15 min): classic White Mountains hiking with a rocky summit and huge views.
- Tamworth village (about 10 min): the Barnstormers Theatre, the Remick Country Doctor Museum & Farm, and small-town shops.
- King Pine Ski Area (about 20 min): family-friendly skiing, snowboarding, and tubing in winter.
- Ossipee Lake area (about 15 min): more lakes, boat launches, and back-road drives.
- Conway and the Kancamagus Highway (about 25 min): one of the best scenic drives in the country.
- North Conway (about 30 min): outlet shopping, restaurants, breweries, and Cranmore Mountain.

It's quiet enough for stargazing, close enough for dinner out.

========== HOUSE RULES > ADDITIONAL RULES ==========

We want your stay to be relaxing for you and respectful of our neighbors. A few things to keep in mind:

- Maximum 8 guests.

- Quiet hours are 10 PM to 8 AM.

- No smoking or vaping inside. Smoking is allowed outdoors only, away from the doors.

- No parties or events. Small gatherings need our approval in advance, so just ask.

- Up to 2 dogs are welcome with a $100 pet fee. Please keep them off the beds and clean up after them outside.

- Fire pit: keep fires small and attended, and fully put them out before heading in.

- The canoe in the living room is decor only. Please don't take it down or use it.
- Trash goes in the bear-proof bins at the top of the driveway.

Thanks for treating the cabin like your own!

You'll have the entire cabin to yourselves. Check-in is at 4:00 PM and check-out is at 10:00 AM. Self check-in is easy with a smart lock, and we'll send your personal door code before arrival. Both bedrooms and the bathroom are on the main floor. The sleeping loft is up a staircase. A small owner's closet and the shed on the property are locked and not for guest use. For your security, there's a doorbell camera at the front door (exterior only).

We want you to feel welcome and well cared for throughout your stay. You’ll have the space to enjoy your getaway, with our team just a message away whenever you need assistance, have a question, or want a local recommendation. We’re happy to help you make the most of your time in the White Mountains!

Families: a real family vacation where the kids claim the loft, the adults claim the fire pit, and everyone gets a day on the trails or at the state park beach.

- Girls' trip: hike in the morning, cook together at the island, then wine and stories by the fireplace. Sleeps 8 means nobody gets left out.

- Guys' trip: skiing, snowmobile trails, or a hike up Mt. Chocorua by day, then the gas grill and the fire pit by night.

- Dog owners: up to two dogs are welcome, so the whole family comes along.

- Shoulder-season travelers: late fall and early spring bring quiet trails, open restaurants, and lower crowds. It's the best time to see the area like a local.

Parking:

Free parking for up to 4 vehicles is right in the driveway, steps from the front door. The driveway is plowed during the winter season by our local snow removal team, but please give yourself extra time and drive carefully on snowy or icy days. AWD or 4WD is a smart choice for winter visits. There is no EV charger on site.
